October 25 (Wed) "Opening Ceremony"
Today was the first day of Japanese experiences. The morning began with the opening ceremony, where Mr. T. Watanabe, Minister of Education, Katsuura city and Ms. Carol Vaughan, the president of the World School and Kanto International Senior High School, and the related authorities have warmly welcomed us.
After a short break, we had intercultural games, through which we were shown the common points and the differences among the world's cultures and how we can cope with them. After lunch, we heard a lecture from Ms. Kaoru Oba about "Intercultural Communication". She showed and explained to us through very funny and suggestive examples, the main ideas of this field. It was a great day! I'm looking forward to the next ones!!! October 25, 2000
